Blackburn Rovers have taken 6 of 6 points in the championship this season with a win at Swansea City.
Sammy Smodics, who joined from Peterborough this week, dominated Blackburn in the 39th minute of his debut.
Ben Bretton Diaz then took his first win of the season with a classy finish just before time.
Swansea already looked beaten by the time Louis Travis’ drive capped off a great day for Rovers in the second half.
New Blackburn boss John Dahl Thomason enjoyed a perfect first week in the championship, but Swansea head coach Russell Martin said he had to give up after an inspiring performance from his team. I am left with a job that I must do.
Seemingly lacking in attacking threat, Swansea managed just one point from their first two games of the new season.
It was a meeting of one team whose work was clearly still on-going after a year under Martin, and another team who were adjusting to life after Tony Mowbray.
The Thomason era began with a Day 1 victory and clean sheet against Queens Park Rangers.
The first half at Swansea.com Stadium saw even more good news for Blackburn as the hosts controlled the ball but Rovers took charge of the scoreboard.
Only once did Swansea appear to score a goal. Joel Latibaudière appeared well positioned at the far post as Michael Obafemi headed in Ryan Manning’s aerial cross.
Joel Piroe caught a loose ball but was only able to hit the shot with a slightly wider range.
Rovers also rarely threatened, but moved on when deep in Swansea territory Jay Fulton was ousted by Ryan Hedges.
Hedges showed composure and stepped into a recovery challenge made by Fulton, teing up Smodics to force Rovers into the lead from 15 yards out.
Swansea nearly leveled early in the second half when Latibaudière was in the center of Pirouet but his volley was parried by Thomas Kaminski.

Blackburn doubled their lead just as the home side gained momentum for the first time.
Swansea Academy graduate Hedges overtook home debutant Nathan Wood with his first touch as Rovers picked Bretton Diaz for an assist.
The Chilean international, who scored 22 goals for Blackburn last season, calmly shot an advancing Andy Fischer.
Swansea tried to react, but Piroe was denied by Kaminski at the near post before Jamie Patterson’s cross shot was cleared from under the bar by Tayo Edan.
However, a slim chance for a home revival was crushed by a sharp Blackburn counter, with Tillis Dolan letting skipper Travis score his second goal of the season.
Swansea manager Russell Martin:
“We were punished for our mistakes and small things. We didn’t have enough moments. We were too in control and we made mistakes in the first half.”
“Yes, we would like to be faster, but we are playing against a team that has a lot of men behind the ball.
“We make mistakes, and then we make other mistakes. A few weeks ago I said that how we react to mistakes defines our behavior, and that’s what defines it today. increase”
“We still had a lot of good things to do. We will be criticized for it and there are a lot of young men who have to learn quickly.
Blackburn head coach Jon Dahl Thomason:
“The tactical performance was high class. We worked on this game all week.
“We controlled the game out of possession against a very good team with the ball. I think we looked very dangerous in transition and when Swansea attacked we were solid. It looked like
“The boys worked very hard and followed the plan they thought they should do.
“They’re great boys. They’re up for things and hopefully with this win they believe in things even more. [we are doing].”
