Digital twin boosts decarbonization key to renewable energy transition

houston, August 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — KBC (A Yokogawa Company) announces the release of a new version of its award-winning Petro-SIM.® Process simulation software. Version 7.3 includes more reliable and robust reactor and gas turbine and burner emissions calculation models for modeling bio-oils. As operators move to clean energy, they now have access to highly precise methods to design, monitor and streamline operations while improving margins. Petro-SIM 7.3 technology lays the foundation for AI-based automatic model maintenance and supports the first part of a series of applications that will be rolled out later this year.

Many countries are moving to cleaner energy sources, optimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions. The result is stringent environmental regulations that the process industry must comply with, already squeezing tight margins. The Petro-SIM 7.3 simulation tool extends decarbonization simulation capabilities to accurately portray the decarbonization process, providing a scalable solution to help operators overcome these challenges.

“Petro-SIM 7.3 Process Simulator is a versatile tool that can provide more accurate information to multiple units along the supply chain. Operators can use this data to predict potential problems and reduce system downtime. can be minimized and an efficient system can be designed.” Rodolfo Telles-Smir, a product champion in process simulation. “Our technology is integrated into daily work processes to provide reliable predictions of combustion emissions, potential equipment failures, and operational risks. We can proceed to optimize, enhance performance monitoring, automate production scheduling, analyze, and reduce emissions from combustion sources.”

Demand is increasing, especially in the petrochemical polymer industry. However, the complexity of polymer processing makes it difficult for polymer manufacturers to develop and design process technologies that meet the required product quality. Powered by Predici-SIM technology, Petro-SIM 7.3 software can now simulate polymerization processes. This enables operators to assess and manage challenges so they can optimize key performance indicators and develop new polymer grades with desirable properties while maintaining operating conditions in steady-state and dynamic modes throughout the petrochemical polymer supply chain. can be developed and manufactured.

Russell Byfield, Global Simulation Business Leader, further commented: The industry’s most comprehensive and advanced simulation software solution. Its breadth and depth are unmatched, and its versatility allows our customers to efficiently and effectively address many challenges. ”
