Yavapai College Approves Aviation Program Private Pilot Training Fees
The Yavapai College District Steering Committee has approved a proposed fee structure for the College’s Private Pilot Training as part of the Aviation Program.
The aviation industry needs an influx of trained pilots and Yavapai College is equipped to train students in private and commercial pilot training in just two years.
Aviation Program classes are taught at Prescott Airport and at the Yavapai University Career and Technical Education Center in Prescott.
At a special meeting Tuesday, the board approved the university’s request for tuition, differential tuition, and other program costs, allowing classes to be offered this fall. YC partners with his Leighnor Aircraft to privately lease his pilot’s training aircraft. The total student cost will be approximately $14,388.
YC already offers FAA-approved training for instrument pilots, commercial single-engine aircraft, commercial multi-engine aircraft, commercial flight instructors, and commercial instrument flight instructors.
For more information, please visit www.yc.edu/aviation or contact Matthew Mintzmyer (matthew.mintzmyer@yc.edu).
