BRICS games held online

According to the Chinese organizers, the online version of the BRICS games is expected to enhance mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges between participating countries in an innovative and safe way.

Hosted by China as host of the 14th BRICS Summit in June, the 2022 BRICS Games kicks off on September 1 with competition and demonstrations in three events: breakdancing, chess and martial arts (Chinese martial arts). is done. The Chinese organizer launched the game’s official website on Wednesday as a portal for registration, video uploads, scoring, judging and results announcement.

Athletes and teams who sign up for breakdancing and martial arts document their performances in the form of uploaded videos that are ranked in several categories by a panel of professional judges. Chess competitors play live at chess.com.

Official registration for the competition opens on August 15th.

The website also features dedicated channels showcasing traditional sports and athletic activities from each of the five BRICS countries, such as yoga from India, dragon boat racing from China, and jiu-jitsu from Brazil. Enthusiasts can interact with each other by uploading practice videos and routines on the website.

On behalf of the organizing committee, China’s Sports Minister Gao Shidan welcomed participants from the BRICS countries and hailed the Games as a gala event to enhance friendship and respect.

“Sports are a unique and integral part of human interaction in the BRICS,” Gao said Wednesday in a speech posted on the game’s official website, www.2022bricsgames.com.

“Over the past five years, BRICS sports exchanges and cooperation have been continuously deepened. The BRICS Sports Ministerial Meeting and the BRICS Games have become organizational highlight events. We actively contribute to the promotion and deepening of sports culture, mutual understanding and friendship among people.”

The 2022 BRICS games will improve the development of BRICS sports and promote understanding and friendship between the BRICS sports community and the BRICS people.” We believe that we can play a unique role in building quality partnerships and embark on a new journey of BRICS cooperation through the power of sport.”
