Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Morecambe - BBC Sport

featured image

Liverpool loaner Conor Bradley opened an account as Bolton beat Morecambe to maintain an unbeaten start to the campaign.

Ian Evatt’s early-season high-flyer struggled to break through the Shrimpers’ well-organized defense until a talented teenager broke through.

Bradley finished from six yards after Elias Kachunga and John Duddy Bodversson created chances and the Icelandic striker’s shot was blocked.

The Trotters have rarely been bothered by a visiting team claiming their first league title of the season. Former Wanderer Ryan Delaney came closest to the equalizer, going just outside from an Ash Hunter free-kick after 53 minutes.

Derek Adams’ visitors were high in effort but low in quality with defender Max Melbourne taking the stretch off in the second half.

Substitute Amadou Bakayoko should have saved the Wanderers’ late angst, but his poor header from Kyle Dempsey’s cross didn’t come at a cost.
