Gevani Brown scored twice as Exeter beat Port Vale 4-0 in style. It was his first home game in ten years in League One.
Harry Kyte opened the scoring in the 24th minute and this could be the end of the season’s goal battle.
The Exeter Academy graduate rose from looping clearance and sweetly connected to a sensational first-time volley that flew into the far corner from 20 yards out.
In the 37th minute, Jack Sparks successfully spun Sammy Robinson. Sammy Robinson heeled into the box for a penalty and Brown sent Adam Stone wrong from 12 yards to score.
Robinson had a chance of revenge on the stroke of half-time, but his hard-hitting shot was brilliantly saved by Exeter debutant Jamal Blackman in the Greek’s goal.
Sam Nombe should have made it 3-0 but he shot wide on a clean through. However, he crossed to Brown in the 72nd minute to turn provider and calmly slotted into the second of the game.
Nombe then added a fourth in the 75th minute, turning from a close range from a long throw by Alex Hartridge to finish.
