The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) hosted a spectacular send-off party for the Indian contingent to take part in the first-ever Commonwealth Esports Championship on Sunday. Hosted by the Esports Federation. It is scheduled in Birmingham from 6th to 7th August.

Members of DOTA 2 and Rocket League, representing their countries at the prestigious event, attended the occasion along with Lokesh Suzy, ESFI Director, Asian Esports Federation Vice President, Satinder Sikri (Haryana Esports Association Vice President) and Yash. did. ESFI also unveiled the official kits of the Indian teams for the Commonwealth Esports Championships during the event.

Many thanks to INOX for their help, the rise of esports in India over the last few years has been truly remarkable and the fact that two teams represented the country on the global stage is the result.We at ESFI, I wish the Indian delegation the best of luck and I am sure they will make their country proud.” ESFI Director and Asian Esports Federation Vice President Lokesh Suji said:

“We are honored and extremely excited to be participating in this inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championship. Esports will likely be a medal sport in the next Commonwealth Games scheduled for 2026. is.” streak added.

The Rocket League India team is led by Hargun Singh (Hargun <2) with Sandeep Sahani and Rushil Reddy as the other two members. Team Dota 2, on the other hand, consists of his captain Moin Ejaz, Ketan Goyal, Abhishek Yadav, Shubham Goli and Vishal Vernekar.

Both teams have already proven their mettle with impressive victories in the South Asia regional qualifiers for last month’s tournament.

“I am really excited that esports will be included in Commonwealth events.This will really change how esports are perceived among people around the world. It is a great opportunity that has been given to us and we intend to do the best we can to represent India. I am paying.” Hagun said as a bystander at the event.

“The whole team is looking forward to playing against the best team in the world and has proven our mettle. Having the chance to represent our country in the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championship is such a great reward for all the hard work we put in to play this game at the highest level. I would like to thank the ESFI for the sports psychology sessions that have taught me so many valuable things.” Added DOTA 2 Skipper Moin Ejaz.

Athletes also participated in an enlightening sports psychology session “Creating a High Performance Mindset” Mitesh Jain (Founder and Chief Sports Psychologist – Mandeha). This included mental exercises and activities to improve player concentration, mental skills, confidence, motivation and communication skills.

Afterwards, a special film screening was held for the athletes to relax before the long journey. The Indian delegation left for Birmingham early in the morning on Monday (01/08/2022).

The 2022 Commonwealth Esports Championships will be held at the International Convention Center in Birmingham and will feature some of the world’s top esports teams. Alongside DOTA2 and Rocket League, PES2022 will also participate in the tournament.
